How can a PM understand what the AI agents actually shipped?

Last updated October 5, 2026

You do not have to read code to understand what your product does. With DiffGuardian you can ask about a pull request or about the whole codebase in plain English and get a plain-English answer, spoken or written. That makes it practical to check what agents shipped without waiting for an engineer to explain it.

#What to ask

  • About a pull request: "What does this change do for a user?", "Which features does it touch?", "What could this break?"
  • About the codebase: "How does sign-up work?", "Where do we check permissions?", "What happens when a payment fails?"
  • To go deeper: "Explain that part more simply", "Show me where that happens."

#How to get the answer

  • Talk to a pull request. Hold the key in the voice dock, ask, and hear the answer while the code it refers to is highlighted. See Talk to your pull request.
  • Talk to your codebase. Ask about the whole repository and watch a graph build while the answer is spoken. See Talk to your codebase.
  • Read the walkthrough. Trace It explains a pull request one feature at a time, at your own pace.

Voice, Trace It and codebase questions are Pro features.

#When to pull in an engineer

DiffGuardian helps you understand. It does not replace an engineer's judgment about whether the code is correct or safe. Use it to ask better questions, and bring an engineer in for anything about security, data or money.

DiffGuardian is a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, and works with pull requests on GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket.

#Limits

  • Answers come from an AI model reading your code. Treat them as a well-informed first pass and check anything that matters with the people who wrote it.
  • It never merges anything, and the decision to approve stays with a person.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You can ask in plain English and get plain-English answers. Some terms will still come up, and you can ask for a simpler explanation at any point.

Where do my questions go?

To the AI backend you chose: a local model that stays on your machine, or your own cloud provider key, sent directly from your machine to that provider. Never to DiffGuardian's servers.
